1983 Hunter 34
A great platform for living aboard or cruising the coast. Excellent interior layout for comfort. Easy to sail and maneuver. Take her to the islands or cruise her around the bay. She’ll do it all!
The Hunter 34 is a fast boat, particularly in light air. This is due almost entirely to her huge rig, which towers over 51′ above the waterline. Owners report that in winds of from seven to 12 knots, the boat is practically unbeatable in club racing. The typical PHRF rating of 135 for the deep keel version is faster than most other cruiser/racers of her size.
All in all, the Hunter 34 interior is well thought out and livable. The privacy of the tri-cabin (aft cabin, salon, and forward cabin) is very important for a family with children, or owners that like to cruise with another couple. The boat will sleep 5 without converting the dinette, and sleep 7 with the dinette converted; in a reasonable amount of comfort- remarkable for a boat this size.
V berth forward with storage underneath and hanging lockers. Next aft is a vanity to port and enclosed head to starboard. The salon has a long settee to port and dinette to starboard with storage on each side. Nav desk is on port opposite the U-shaped galley. To port of the companionway is a private quarterberth stateroom with hanging locker and storage.
